Founded in1895, Family & Children’s Service of Niagara (FACS) has provided continuous service to families in need for 114 years. Our mission “to strengthen the Niagara region...one family at a time,” is based on the belief that through helping relationships, people have the capacity to heal, to learn and to grow. Any day of the week you may be interacting with someone whose life has been touched by Family & Children’s.
In 1912 the community came together to build a home for the agency at 826 Chilton Avenue. Over the years our name and our services have changed, but our work of helping people help themselves has remained the same. We are now a countywide agency meeting the needs of over 2,900 individuals and families each year. After 97 years on Chilton Avenue, we are “Building for a Second Century of Service to Families.”

In May 2008, Family & Children’s Service launched a $2.2 million capital project to consolidate our five Niagara Falls locations into this new facility on Main Street in the heart of Niagara Falls. The strength of Family & Children’s is our mosaic of inter-related and complimentary services. With the completion of this project, our services will truly be available under one roof in our new “One Stop Family Center.” And once again, 97 years later, we have turned to the community for support.
