Martha H. Beeman & Judge William L. Kellick Endowment Fund

The purpose of the Martha H. Beeman and Judge William L. Kellick Endowment Fund is to help children and youth who are “at risk and in need in Niagara County.” These funds will aid Family & Children’s Service of Niagara in providing programs and services that assist these children and youth now and into the future.

The Endowment Fund is named for two exceptional community leaders who cared deeply about the health and well-being of youth in our community.

Martha H. Beeman was one local philanthropist who helped provide for the needs of children by providing funding for clinical services. The funding supported the Beeman Child Guidance Clinic as well as services at the Family and Children’s Society, which today is known as Family & Children’s Service Niagara. The Martha H. Beeman Foundation disbanded in 2011 and a portion of their endowment assets were given to Family & Children’s Service of Niagara to support youth services.

In 1963 Judge William L. Kellick became the first Family Court Judge to serve in Niagara County. He was re-elected to two ten year terms in 1973 and 1983; and in 1993 he was the most Senior Family Court Judge in New York State. Thousands of youth passed through Judge Kellick’s courtroom over the years and he fostered the need for youth services in the community. Judge Kellick served as a member of the Board of Directors of Family & Children’s Service of Niagara, including a term as Board President; as well as President of the Board of Directors of the Beeman Child Guidance Clinic and later as a board member of the Martha H. Beeman Foundation.

Family & Children’s Service of Niagara is the custodian of the Martha H. Beeman and Judge William L. Kellick Endowment Fund, which is invested in the Niagara Area Foundation, a division of the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo.
